Frequently asked questions
What is UTSNITT?
UTSNITT is a simple photographic utility for iPhone. It combines a photograph and the place where it was taken into a shareable image with an integrated QR code.
Does the recipient need the app?
No. They only need a camera that can scan QR codes and a web browser.
What happens when someone scans the QR code?
They arrive at the fast location page on utsnitt.com and choose Apple Maps or Google Maps. The page does not open a map service automatically.
Does an Utsnitt expire?
The QR link has no built-in expiry date. It depends on utsnitt.com and the selected map services remaining available.
Are my photos uploaded?
Not to an UTSNITT server. The photograph and finished Utsnitt are processed on your iPhone. When you choose to share the image, the selected app or service receives the image file.
Why does UTSNITT need my location?
To connect the photograph to the exact place and create the directions link in the QR code. Apple may also process the coordinate when the app finds a readable place name.
What if location permission is disabled?
On your iPhone, open Settings → Apps → UTSNITT → Location and allow location while using the app. Make sure Precise Location is also enabled.
How do I save the finished image?
In the app’s Settings, you can enable automatic saving to Photos. You can also send the finished image directly using the share button.
