Privacy
UTSNITT requires no account. The app creates the finished Utsnitt on your iPhone, and utsnitt.com has no database of pictures or places.
Camera and pictures
UTSNITT asks for camera access to take the photograph you want to use. The photograph and finished Utsnitt are processed on the device. They are not uploaded to an UTSNITT server.
If you add a short message, it is also processed on the device as part of the Utsnitt.
If you enable automatic saving, the app asks for permission to add the finished Utsnitt to the Photos library on your device. When you share, you choose which app or service receives the image through the iOS Share Sheet. The selected recipient may have its own privacy terms.
Location and place names
The app asks for your location while it is in use to connect the photograph to the place where it was taken. The coordinate is embedded in the QR link in the finished image.
UTSNITT uses Appleās system service for reverse geocoding to find a readable place name. This means the location may be processed by Apple under Appleās terms. The photograph is not included in that lookup.
Optional in-app usage analytics
Usage analytics is off by default. After you have created and shared an Utsnitt, the app may ask whether you voluntarily want to share limited usage information. Declining does not affect the appās features, and you can change your choice at any time in the appās Settings.
If you consent, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which features are used and whether technical operations succeed or fail. The service may process a random app installation identifier, device and operating-system information, app version, general region derived from a masked IP address, app sessions, feature selections, and purchase or restore status. This information is used to analyse and improve UTSNITT, not for advertising or tracking across other companiesā apps and websites.
Usage analytics never includes the photograph, message, precise coordinate or QR code. UTSNITT does not set a user ID and requires no account.
When you turn off usage analytics, the app stops further collection and asks Firebase to reset analytics data on the device. Information already received is retained and deleted or aggregated according to the retention settings in Google Analytics. Because UTSNITT has no accounts and does not record names in analytics, we normally cannot locate data belonging to one particular person. You may contact us if you have questions or need help with your privacy choices.
The QR link and utsnitt.com
The QR link contains the coordinate after a #, for example utsnitt.com/go#59.431920,10.658210. This part of the address is processed locally by the browser and is not normally sent to Firebase Hosting in the HTTP request.
The page validates the coordinate and creates Apple Maps and Google Maps links in the browser. There is no database lookup. When you choose a map service, the coordinate is sent to that service and processed under its own terms.
The website and Firebase Hosting
utsnitt.com is a static website delivered through Firebase Hosting. Your language choice may be stored locally in your browser.
Google, which provides Firebase Hosting, may process necessary technical information such as IP address, time, requested page and browser details to deliver and protect the website. Coordinates placed in the URL fragment are not normally part of the hosting request.
The website does not use Firebase Analytics or analytics cookies. The optional usage analytics described above applies only to the iOS app after consent.
